School Psychologist in Suffolk, VA

Step into a key role supporting student success as a School Psychologist for the  academic year. This contract opportunity offers you the chance to provide vital psychological services and collaborate with educators in a dynamic school setting. Your expertise will help guide students toward brighter academic and emotional outcomes.

In this position, you'll work a consistent 37.5-hour week from 8:45 am to 3:45 pm, with schedules tailored according to your preferences and the needs of the school. Your assignments and caseload will be negotiable to align with your professional strengths and interests.

• Current VA School Psychologist License required
• Background in conducting thorough psychological assessments and diagnostic testing
• Experience recommending interventions to address student challenges and improve learning
• Comfort providing both individual and group therapeutic interventions
• Familiarity with behavior modification techniques
• Capable of effective communication with students, parents, and school staff
• Proficient in maintaining comprehensive records and preparing progress reports

• Conduct psychological evaluations and diagnostic exams
• Develop recommendations to support student learning and emotional well-being
• Provide direct therapy to students, individually or in groups
• Assist with identifying and appropriately placing students needing specialized services
• Employ behavior modification strategies to support student growth
• Maintain regular communication with families and staff to ensure comprehensive support
• Document ongoing student progress and maintain accurate records
