Enochs Eye Care is seeking a motivated, dependable, and patient-focused Optometric Technician to join our private practice. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an optometric or ophthalmic setting and be comfortable performing patient work-ups, diagnostic testing, and assisting the doctor with patient care.

We are looking for someone who is professional, detail-oriented, friendly, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient work-ups prior to the patient's examination with the doctor.
  • Obtain and document patient medical and ocular histories.
  • Perform preliminary testing and diagnostic procedures, including:
    • Visual acuity
    • Refraction/pre-testing
    • Visual fields
    • OCT
    • Fundus photography
    • IOP/tonometry
    • Other diagnostic testing as directed
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist the doctor as needed.
  • Accurately document test results and patient information in the electronic medical record.
  • Operate and maintain diagnostic equipment appropriately.
  • Explain testing procedures to patients and answer basic questions in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Provide excellent patient care and maintain a positive patient experience.
  • Assist with patient flow and maintain efficient clinic operations.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked clinical areas.
  • Follow office policies, procedures, and patient privacy requirements.
  • Perform other clinical and administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in an optometric or ophthalmic office preferred.
  • Experience performing patient work-ups and diagnostic testing strongly preferred.
  • Comfortable working directly with patients of all ages.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy office.
  • Dependable and punctual.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team.
  • Previous experience with Office Mate and/or Exam Writer by Eyefinity is a plus, but not required.
Schedule & Compensation
  • Part-time or full-time position available.
  • Some Saturdays are required.
  • Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications
