OverviewSimIS in support of Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land-Maritime Norfolk, provides on-call Program Management Office services (sustainment, modernization, cybersecurity, systems integration, engineering, and data analytics) for DLA’s Material Operations Support (MOS) application for material procurement processes and shipyard operations. SimIS seeks a part-time Dev Ops Engineer to help design, implement, and maintain efficient deployment pipelines and system monitoring solutions. In this role, you will work in a Scrum Agile environment to support continuous integration and delivery, automate workflows, and manage infrastructure in both on-premise and cloud environments.
This position offers hands-on experience with cutting-edge tools while contributing to mission-critical solutions in a collaborative, fast-paced setting.
- Implement architecture for continuous integration and deployment, and monitoring.
- Execute Scrum Agile methodology and implement Dev Ops methodologies at the project level.
- Serve as the administrator of complex technology implementations in a product-centric environment.
- Debug cluster-based computing architecture.
- Use scripting or basic programming skills to solve problems.
- Install and administer monitoring tools and configuration management tools (e.g., TFS, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt, Logical Volume Manager (LVM)).
- 10% travel required.
- 5 years of relevant experience
- BS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with Scrum Agile methodology and implementing Dev Ops methodologies at project levels
- Experience with deployments with on premise or cloud environments
- Experience deploying and configuring Dev Ops services.
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., LXC, Docker, Rocket, Open Shift)
- Cloud Certification (e.g., AWS Dev Ops Engineer, Azure SA, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure)
