This position is within the Lockheed Martin Enterprise Business and Digital Transformation (EBDT) Classified IT Transformation organization, chartered with transforming IT delivery to Classified programs and environments. Lockheed Martin is seeking a driven and dedicated team member to support the Lockheed Martin Center for Innovation in Suffolk, VA. Your experience and expertise will contribute to information technology with a growth mindset mentality and willingness to learn and acquire skills over time. Your support of the Customer Demonstration and Lab environment will be a key asset to the team.

The selected candidate will join the Classified IT Transformation team, performing IT Systems Administration across multiple platforms including AWS, Azure, Linux Red Hat, ESXi, VMware Horizon, Windows Server, and Windows/Linux desktops.

Responsibilities

Overall responsibilities include ensuring that all IT systems are managed, controlled, and updated in a manner consistent with both Lockheed Martin and Department of Defense policies, procedures, and requirements. This includes systems engineering and implementation, routine updates, major upgrades, on‑going maintenance and support of hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI), virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), Storage Area Networks (SAN), data protection appliances, and other peripherals as well as vulnerability scanning/patching, STIG compliance and adherence to the Risk Management Framework.

The role may also be responsible for execution of server initiatives, server asset inventory management, server support and troubleshooting of all server infrastructure related hardware, software and related tasks. The position utilizes troubleshooting skills to provide timely and effective solutions to problems and to develop technical solutions to complex issues requiring ingenuity and creativity. All work must be performed on‑site, including some off‑shift hours, weekends, occasional travel, and support of a 24×7 weekly on‑call rotation schedule.

Basic

Qualifications
  • Secret Clearance
  • 2+ years experience with Windows Operating Systems (e.g., Windows Server 2016, Windows 10, etc.) and Linux Operating Systems (e.g., Red Hat Enterprise Linux, IBM/AIX, etc.)
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Horizon, vSphere, vCenter, vSAN, Hyper‑V, etc.)
  • Experience with vulnerability remediation and security management (system hardening, log management, configuration management)
  • Ability to move, rack, stack, and install physical equipment by lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Understanding of technology areas such as Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, and WSUS
  • Experience performing software installations, support, and documentation
  • Experience in end user support / incident response
  • Ability to provide after hours/on call support
  • Security+ Certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days of start)
Desired Skills
  • Understanding and/or experience working Information Assurance (IA) hardening and compliance, e.g., STIG & DSS compliance, documentation, etc.
  • Experience with virtualization infrastructure such as VMware, KVM, Hyper‑V, etc.
  • Understanding of NAS/SAN/PFS storage systems and related networking
  • Basic understanding of routing/switching networking concepts
  • Scripting ability to support system administration (Ansible, Python, BASH, Perl, Batch, VBScript, Power Shell, etc.)
  • Experience working with environment management solutions (SPLUNK, McAfee EPO, vSphere, Azure, etc.)
  • Experience working with Cloud Environment Azure / AWS
  • Understanding and/or experience working with SQL or other databases
  • Understanding and/or experience working with Exchange, SharePoint, Skype, Teams
