Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Growth Analyst Africa

Base is planning to bring a million developers and a billion users onchain. We need your help to make that happen.

We believe that the onchain platform is the most important builder platform since the internet (online). We are open source, free to use, and globally available. To make it work we need all hands on deck, working together to scale in a secure, decentralized, easy-to-use way.

At Base, we live by our Stay Based values: we do the right thing, work hard, stay optimistic, prioritize the team, and push creative boundaries, all while building the future of onchain. We value a Zone 3+ work ethic, where our team rises to the challenge, embraces hard weeks, and makes small to significant personal tradeoffs when needed to drive impact and innovation.

Base is incubated within Coinbase and plans to progressively decentralize in the years ahead. We believe that decentralization is critical to creating an open, global crypto economy that is accessible to everyone.

Base is built on Optimism’s open-source OP Stack. We’re joining as the second Core Dev team working on the OP Stack to ensure it’s a public good available to everyone, and contributing a portion of sequencer revenue to funding public goods.

We’re looking for a Growth Analyst for Africa to help tell the story of Africa’s onchain movement. You’ll help us grow Base’s presence across the continent through content, distribution, and community-led programs that inspire founders and creators to build onchain.

What You’ll Be Doing
1. Content & Distribution
  • Lead Base Africa’s content engine: curating stories, trends, and moments that showcase African builders and startups.
  • Create and distribute content across social media channels to grow awareness beyond crypto‑native circles.
  • Work with creators, influencers, and community partners to co‑create high‑context, platform‑native content.
  • Track and analyze what performs using data to refine tone, frequency, and storytelling formats.
  • Translate ecosystem wins (builders, projects, launches, partnerships) into compelling narratives and content series.
2. Community & Ecosystem Growth
  • Identify and activate partnerships across accelerators, VCs, universities, and media outlets.
  • Support community‑driven content initiatives – podcasts, interviews, recap reels, newsletters, or builder spotlight campaigns.
  • Curate online and IRL moments that bring builders together and generate stories worth sharing.
  • Amplify Base programs (fellowships, buildathons, launchpads) through storytelling, recaps, and social distribution.
3. Program Support & Ops
  • Support the entire Africa team in executing founder and builder programs – managing operations, communications, and content rollouts.
  • Coordinate across marketing, ops, and all Africa regional leads to ensure stories from each program are captured and shared.
  • Help measure and communicate impact through content dashboards, social metrics, and builder success stories.
What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves

  • 2–4 years of experience in content or marketing roles – ideally in tech, startups, or creator ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of social distribution, knowing how to craft posts, videos, and narratives that travel.
  • A natural storyteller who can turn a builder’s journey into a thread, clip, or case study.
  • Operationally strong – you can move projects from concept to publish fast.
  • Excited about the intersection of content, community, and onchain innovation in Africa.
  • Based in Kenya.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Prior experience working in or with early‑stage startups, social media agencies, or media outlets.
  • Familiarity with African tech media, creator networks, and local startup ecosystems (Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, South Africa).
  • Comfort working across multiple content formats – short‑form, long‑form, video, and social‑native storytelling.
  • Experience managing freelancers, agencies, creators, or other media partners.
  • Experience building your own personal brand.
Why This Role Matters

Africa is telling one of the most important stories in the onchain era – young builders, local problems, global innovation.

Your job is to make those stories seen, heard, and felt.

You’ll help shape how the world perceives Africa’s role in the onchain…
