Maintenance Assistant, Corporate

Overview

Maintenance Assistant performs preventive maintenance as directed and as necessary on all aspects of building structures and systems. Assists in the performance of general maintenance to include floors, walls, ceilings, lighting, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other items. Operates hand tools and power tools safely and according to manufacturers' instructions; uses protective measures to minimize safety risks to self and others while performing job duties;

maintains parts, supplies, and equipment; inspects, repairs, or replaces electrical components; monitors fire, sprinkler, and perimeter security alarm systems for abnormal conditions and responds appropriately; interfaces with building tenants on a range of issues daily.

This is a full time on site position at the Belle Harbour Campus, Suffolk Virginia

• Perform preventive maintenance on building structures and systems as directed
• Assist in maintenance of floors, walls, ceilings, lighting, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and related items
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely; follow manufacturers’ instructions
• Maintain parts, supplies, and equipment; monitor and respond to abnormal conditions in fire, sprinkler, and perimeter security alarm systems
• Interface with building tenants daily to address a range of issues

• Education:
  High School Diploma/Equivalent or Trade School Program
• Certification/Licensure: VA or NC Driver's License (valid and in good standing)
• Experience: 2 years minimum experience in facilities or general maintenance; basic understanding of Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Maintenance and Facilities; ability to begin service/repair or know when to escalate
