Sawmill Supervisor

West Fraser is seeking a Sawmill Supervisor to lead safe, efficient lumber production at our modern mill. In this role, you will oversee shift crews, manage sawmill operations, and drive throughput, quality, and recovery while maintaining strict safety and environmental standards. You'll coordinate maintenance, monitor KPIs, adjust processes, and ensure compliance with procedures and training. Working in a hands-on, team-focused environment, you'll help develop employees, support continuous improvement, and contribute to sustainable, high-volume wood products manufacturing and long-term operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise sawmill production crews and daily shift activities
• Enforce safety policies and promote a safety-first culture
• Monitor production targets, quality, and recovery metrics (KPIs)
• Coordinate with maintenance to minimize downtime and equipment issues
• Optimize sawmill processes, flow, and scheduling for efficiency
• Train, coach, and evaluate employees to support skill development
• Ensure compliance with environmental, company, and regulatory standards
• Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities
• Oversee housekeeping and organization of mill operating areas
• Prepare basic production, safety, and incident reports
