Multi-Specialty Infusion Advanced Practice Provider
Overview
The largest group of medical professionals in Hampton Roads and Northeast North Carolina is devoted exclusively to cancer care and blood disorders. We are seeking a top Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to oversee the operation of a Multispecialty Infusion Clinic (MSI) for weekend infusions of monoclonal antibodies. This position is 20 hours a week, weekends only. The successful candidate will onboard patient referrals via telehealth visits, provide incident‑to coverage for Saturday and Sunday infusion appointments, directly manage infusion emergencies in the office, and will travel to the sites where appointments are offered throughout the month.
Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for clinic patients in an outpatient setting.
- Initiate and document appropriate interventions.
- Evaluate and record patient and family responses within practice protocols.
- Prescribe drug therapies per protocol and physician consultation.
- Assess patient and family needs and provide education.
- Promote and provide staff education.
- Serve as a liaison between inpatient, skilled nursing, and home settings.
- Incorporate evidence‑based research into clinical practice.
- Independently manage any infusion reactions and anaphylaxis.
- Onboard patient referrals via telehealth visits.
- Provide incident‑to coverage for Saturday and Sunday infusion appointments.
- Directly manage infusion emergencies in the office.
- Travel to various practice locations and attend weekly infusion appointments.
- Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner program, or a successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Two years of post‑Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant hematology/oncology experience.
- Experience and knowledge in managing the physiological and psychological effects of cancer diagnosis and treatment.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
- Current state certification as a Nurse Practitioner or current state license as a Physician Assistant.
- Current CPR certification.
- Willingness to travel to various practice locations and attend weekly infusion appointments.
