Take your nursing career to the next level with a team that truly values skill, compassion, and growth. Sentara Obici Hospital is seeking a dedicated and patient‑focused Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU).
ResponsibilitiesAs an IMCU RN, you’ll provide high‑quality, evidence‑based care to patients requiring close observation and specialized nursing support. You’ll monitor complex conditions, collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, and ensure a smooth transition for patients between critical care and general medical‑surgical units.
Unit Details- The IMCU is a 24‑bed unit that provides care for higher acuity patients in neuro, cardiac, respiratory, surgical, and renal.
- Typical patients include respiratory failure / congestive heart failure, chronic tracheostomy ventilator patients, stroke and seizure patients, MI cardiac patients, renal hemodialysis, and post‑op surgical patients with extensive wounds such as decubitus ulcers, VATs, orthopedic, and ostomy.

Suffolk, VA
Work ShiftFirst (Days) – Full Time, Days 7 a.m.‑7 p.m.
Qualifications- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing – BSN or MSN (Preferred). Students completing an accredited nursing program. Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (Required).
- Certification / Licensure: Registered nursing license (Required). Students obtaining RN license. Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
- Experience: None required; 1 year of acute care (preferred); previous healthcare experience (preferred).
- Automatic enrollment for any RN with less than 12 months experience or transitioning to a new practice area.
- General nursing orientation.
