About the UnitThe Medical‑Surgical Unit is a 21‑bed general Med‑Surg setting that serves a broad mix of patients. It is a certified Stroke Center and Magnet hospital, offering a collaborative, supportive environment ideal for both new graduates and experienced nurses. Coordinators and preceptors are on staff to ensure smooth operations and quality patient care.
Responsibilities- Perform competent nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Coordinate care, teach, promote health, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Apply professional standards of practice and performance (ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence‑based practice, quality, resource utilization, environmental health).
- Maintain patient safety and deliver quality care in a rapid‑change environment.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.
- Registered Nursing Degree or equivalent diploma required; students completing an accredited nursing program are eligible.
- Registered Nursing License required; students currently obtaining a RN license are acceptable.
- Registered Nursing License (RN) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
- No prior experience required; 1 year of acute‑care experience preferred.
- Previous healthcare experience preferred.
