Critical Care Nurse Practitioner Opportunity
A facility in Suffolk, Virginia is seeking an experienced Critical Care Nurse Practitioner for a locum opportunity. This ongoing need is to support coverage while new providers are being credentialed, offering a flexible schedule with both day and night shifts.

Inpatient (Critical Care) Autonomy: APP will work autonomously Patient Volume:
Avg. 13 patients/day (range 1–20) EMR: EPIC
June – Day
Shifts:
1, 2, 11, 18, 20, 21, 24, 25, 29, 30
July – Day
Shifts:
1, 6, 9, 11, 12, 16–22, 24, 27
July – Night
Shifts:
24–27
August: 13–17, 20–24 (Days or Nights – TBD closer to dates)
Ongoing:
- Additional shifts in August and beyond (TBD)
- Must be able to cover at least one stint per month
- Facility will work around locum availability as much as possible
- Manage ventilated patients with RT support
- Monitor and manage critical care patients
- Admit patients from ED, hospital floor, and outside facilities
- Perform procedures:
Central lines (CVLs), Arterial lines, Dialysis (HD) catheters - Respond to and manage decompensating patients overnight
- Communicate with families and discuss goals of care
- Ongoing locum need with flexible scheduling
- Autonomy in a critical care setting
- Broad procedural exposure
- EPIC EMR for streamlined documentation

Required:
CVLs, arterial lines, HD catheters - Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 2–4 weeks
- Board Certified Nurse Practitioner
- Active Virginia license & DEA
- BLS & ACLS Certified
- Must be available for listed dates
- Must be able to provide coverage every month
- Critical care experience required
- Clean background required for temporary privileges
- Ongoing need while credentialing new providers
- Temp privileges dependent on clean background
- MUST NOTATE ALL DETAILS DURING NAME CLEARS
