- Ensure supply‑chain adherence to contracted quality assurance and quality control requirements.
- Develop and implement Project Quality Control Plans and oversee inspection and surveillance activities.
- Support the PDO Quality Director and Quality Delivery Manager to achieve Integrated Management System arrangements and manage quality across the programme.
- Act as the single point of contact for all quality related elements associated with the supply chain (“Intelligent Customer”).
- Ensure products and/or services are supplied “Right First Time” (RFT) and manage issue resolution and corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Review and accept manufacturing surveillance offers, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and perform joint inspections with contracted inspection entities.
- Measure, report quality metrics, and perform regular supplier audits to maintain supplier performance.
- During construction, verify that constructed elements conform to contract design and technical specifications.
- Experience in project delivery, preferably in the nuclear power sector, with a focus on project quality across engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning.
- Strong understanding of QA/QC best practice for large, complex, contract‑led organisations.
- Excellent communication skills – able to prepare presentations and present to individuals and large audiences.
- Ability to support and implement practical solutions while welcoming ideas from others.
- Experience interfacing with project teams and supply‑chain organisations.
- Analytical skills – prepare reports and make recommendations.
- Influence and constructive challenge accepted by others.
- Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Team player with proactive, flexible initiative‑driven approach.
- Fluent in English.
- Knowledge of the nuclear sector (preferably new build) and nuclear site licence conditions.
- Knowledge of pressure and nuclear codes;
Welding, NDT, NDE. - Professional accreditation – corporate member or working toward membership of the Chartered Quality Institute and Chartered Quality Professional.
- Commercial exposure, especially supplier management and interaction with regulators (e.g., ONR).
- Knowledge of improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).
- A HNC/HND qualification or degree in a relevant science or engineering subject, or equivalent qualification.
- Broad experience implementing a range of quality‑related solutions.
- Proven track record of delivering results and leadership experience in a QA/QC environment within the nuclear industry or other safety‑critical industry.
- Proven experience resolving issues with a wide range of stakeholders in a multi‑cultural environment.
- Support development of QA/QC arrangements within the SZC organisation.
- Implement key quality arrangements: quality execution, technical assessment of suppliers, supplier audit, manufacturing surveillance, non‑conformance management, quality release certificate process.
- Review, accept, and monitor contractors’ Quality Assurance Plans (CQAP) and other contractual documentation (LTQR, ITP, etc.).
- Conduct audits, resolve findings, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Produce Project Quality Control Plans and execute LTQR reviews.
- Lead NNB review and acceptance of relevant manufacturing documentation.
- Perform joint inspections and oversee surveillance activities.
