Position: Retail Keyholder (Store 3136)

Responsibilities
  • Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, respond to questions/concerns promptly and courteously, assist guests in meeting their video gaming needs, inform guests about promotions and the trade-in program, recommend additional items as appropriate, apply selling behaviors during each transaction, and thank guests for choosing Game Stop. Circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks.
  • Support the overall shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.
  • Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, ensuring top-notch guest service.
  • Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone, answering calls promptly, courteously, and professionally.
  • Promote Game Stop’s guest benefits, such as the new title reservations program and the Pro Rewards guest loyalty program.
  • Ensure store areas, including restrooms, are clean, organized, and merchandised according to guidelines. Ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order.
  • Complete Omni-Channel orders daily.
  • Safeguard company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness and safety best practices.
  • Conduct store inventory counts, stock/restock merchandise, and move products from stock to front-of-store to keep products represented and organized.
  • Support management in meeting and exceeding sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative and operational duties.
  • Count, balance, and reconcile daily transaction totals in the POS system. Ensure closeout paperwork and bank deposits are completed correctly. Assist management in maintaining sufficient cash and change; make daily bank deposits following guidelines.
  • Check shipments for discrepancies or shortages and report discrepancies to the Store Manager as needed.
  • Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls, ensuring labeling and packing lists are correct.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks in the absence of management.
  • Adhere to Game Stop policies and procedures and follow opening and closing procedures.
  • Observe associate performance and provide timely feedback to store management.
Qualifications
  • Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.
  • Video game knowledge preferred.
  • Must be able to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day.

  • Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Meet performance expectations including attendance, professional dress, and grooming.
  • Operate the POS system and complete required paperwork accurately.
  • Basic math and alphabetizing skills.
  • Self-motivation and ability to work as part of a team to complete tasks promptly.
  • Problem-solving and judgment abilities.
  • Follow instructions from written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Deliver bank deposits following loss prevention safety guidelines.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours/days, including nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability.
  • Remain effective under pressure and handle stress appropriately.
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and lift merchandise up to 30 lbs from ground to 4 feet.

Benefits:
Full-time store positions are eligible to participate in incentive programs, 401(k), paid time off, dental, vision, and health insurance. Positions may be eligible for a bonus or other incentives. Pay: $13.27 - $16.02 per hour.
