As a Store Manager at Pet Smart, you will lead your store with a focus on safety for associates and pets, provide excellent customer service, execute operational strategies, and oversee human resources functions. Your leadership will be crucial in achieving business goals and fostering a positive store environment.
Essential Responsibilities- Manage recruitment, hiring, training, and development of associates.
- Create an open-door culture where associates feel heard.
- Facilitate performance reviews and develop succession plans.
- Empower associates by delegating effectively and encouraging growth.
- Ensure timely communication of important updates to the team.
Experience:
- Lead initiatives that prioritize the safety and health of pets.
- Enhance the pet parent experience by addressing concerns and feedback.
- Collaborate with store leaders for community events and local partnerships.
- Maintain store standards and ensure policy compliance.
- Implement corporate strategies to achieve profitability objectives.
- Analyze store operations to drive business growth.
- Manage operating expenses and labor costs effectively.
- 4-6 years of retail leadership experience.
- Full-time availability with a flexible schedule.
- Proficient in computer applications.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Must be able to stand, walk, climb, use hands for various tasks, and lift/move up to 50 pounds regularly. Exposure to pets and a moderate noise level is common in this environment.
