Travel Consultant

This role is responsible for selling travel and travel‑related products and services to both members and non‑members while maintaining high service quality and meeting sales goals. The position supports client needs through outbound calls, reservation services, and member education.

Responsibilities
  • Sell foreign and domestic travel products and services.
  • Utilize lead‑management tools to cultivate new business and expand repeat business, entering all quotes in club technology.
  • Advise clients on travel requirements, protection plans, and trip advisory information.
  • Follow organization policies and provide accurate documentation of all transactions.
  • Maintain product knowledge for the Preferred Supplier program and achieve sales and cross‑sell goals.
  • Issue international driving permits and passport photos.
  • Provide air, car, hotel, rail reservations and ticketing for members and non‑members.
  • Use computer systems to fulfill travel requests and track all transactions with required supporting documentation.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client/member information in accordance with federal, state laws, and club policies.
  • Maintain high expertise on club products, member value offers, and industry trends to recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Research and compare supplier rates to recommend trips based on client budget and needs.
  • Maintain acceptable service quality measurements to meet or exceed branch and corporate objectives.
  • Identify cross‑sell and up‑sell opportunities based on member needs and service requests.
  • Enhance member relationships by diversifying product and service use.
  • Provide sales leads to other departments as appropriate.
  • Maintain administrative requirements, including wage & hour compliance, expense reports, and meeting/training attendance.
Qualifications
  • High School GED required;
    Associate’s degree preferred.
  • 1–3 years of travel agency or sales experience.
  • Customer relations & interpersonal skills – anticipating and meeting member needs.
  • Active listening skills to interpret verbal information and gather key details.
  • Communication and telephone etiquette – clear, understandable, and tactful.
  • Decision‑making and problem‑solving – analyze information and make logical decisions.
  • Teamwork and cooperation – support team members and build cooperative relationships.
  • Ability to handle high volume and time pressure with a positive, caring attitude.
  • Flexibility and adaptability – adjust approach to meet changing needs and rotate among job functions.
  • Knowledge of travel reference materials and ability to use them quickly.
  • Computer and technology skills – enter accurate trip information while conversing with clients.
  • Sales skills – ask qualifying questions, understand travel interests, and successfully close sales.
Travel Requirements

May require taking educational trips for job knowledge (approximately 10% of time).
