CHESS Health, based in Rochester, NY, is a rapidly growing healthcare technology, software and services company focused on addressing the crisis of substance use disorder (SUD). CHESS offers a platform of solutions for the full SUD lifecycle; the solutions are ePrevention, eIntervention, and eRecovery. The eRecovery solution includes the evidence-based Connections App, given to individuals in treatment and recovery from SUD.

CHESS Health’s customers include health plans, state and local governments, SUD and behavioral health providers, and more.

The Position

CHESS seeks to hire a new sales position, Manager/Director of ePrevention Partnerships (level depends on experience), to develop and execute the strategy to acquire new CHESS Health customers of our ePrevention solution. ePrevention is an innovative and unique solution for expanding prevention and early intervention efforts related to substance use (drugs and alcohol), suicidal ideation, and other behavioral health issues.

The customer base for ePrevention includes federal, state, and local government entities (e.g., departments of health), tribal nations, quasi-governmental agencies such as ADAMHS boards, local managing entities, community service boards, schools, higher education, and community agencies.

The key responsibilities of a high-performing team member are to independently pursue sales opportunities and close deals, simultaneously balancing continuously building and maintaining a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities while cold contacting to uncover new opportunities and close contracts.

  • The role involves new business development, pipeline development, deal closure, solution selling and customer prospecting.
  • The focus will be on closing deals; we are not an RFP-driven business.
  • This is an individual contributor (non-management) position.
  • This position will work remotely and require up to 25% travel within the United States.
  • Actively initiate, lead, and execute the full cycle sales process of CHESS Health solutions. This includes performing as an individual contributor to generate leads, facilitate corporate presentations, and deliver significant revenue growth by successfully negotiating contracts with senior level leadership.
  • Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, have a proven track record of closing business while possessing a strong ability to leverage a matrixed customer organization to create solutions that align with prospective client goals.
  • Leverage existing relationships and contacts within the healthcare industry; able to build trusted partnerships at all levels of the organization by defining, addressing, and executing short- and long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Take full ownership of lead qualification and deal progression, demonstrating the ability to lead and execute initiatives. You will manage creative deal structuring, contracting, scoping, negotiation, and resource planning end-to-end with support from company leadership
    - Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Finance.
  • Develop expertise and ensure sales execution aligns with how Public Sector funds initiatives- RFP, Grants, Settlement $s, etc.

Your Value Proposition

  • An unwavering "hunter" with a proven ability to deliver new contracts as an individual contributor.
  • Experience in the substance use or mental health prevention space is preferred, but not required. Strong familiarity with healthcare or public health is required.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully and independently prospecting to generate new leads, handle lead follow-up, qualify potential prospects, perform diagnostic/discovery meetings, handle introductory product demos, create sales proposals, and support the contract generation process.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills, and experience presenting to audiences of 10+.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-moving organization doing innovative work.
