Security Officer Unarmed Access Patrol in Suffolk, VA

As a part‑time security officer, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom and more. Learn more:  In this role, you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter security‑related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication.

Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $19.00 / Hour

Daytime Thursday 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM, Saturday 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

• Provide customer service by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a fast‑paced technology location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, and document observations and actions taken.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout offices, common areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help deter unwanted activity and identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site protocols, and communicate clearly with staff, guests, and/or local responders when needed.
• Support day‑to‑day operations by reporting maintenance concerns, policy violations, and/or suspicious activity through proper communication channels.

• CPR certification is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high‑school diploma or equivalent.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
