Responsible for installation, troubleshooting, repair, inspection and testing of fire alarm systems.

• Installation, troubleshooting and repair of complex networked and non‑networked fire alarm systems with limited or no supervision
• Assist our Construction Fire Alarm Division in troubleshooting, inspecting and testing large‑scale networked fire alarm/mass notification systems for extended periods
• Perform fire alarm, sprinkler, and extinguisher inspections
• Read and interpret drawings and specifications to determine layout requirements
• Assist in training and directing the day‑to‑day work of a helper
• Maintain appropriate documentation for the work performed
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Knowledge of industry standards for fire alarm system installation
• Experience with a variety of system manufacturers
• Troubleshooting skills including researching online, system manuals to resolve problems
• Experience with conduit bending, understanding of blueprints and wiring schematics and layout of system installations
• Exceptional communication skills with customers, other field personnel, office staff and subcontractors
• Must be flexible in adapting to changes in priorities, work assignments, and other interruptions that may impact pre‑established courses of action for completing or progressing with projects and assignments
• Must adhere to all company policy and procedures

• May work in varying temperatures, both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold and dampness
• May work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levels
• May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dust
• May be required to work in confined spaces or from high heights

• This role routinely uses construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools
• While performing duties of the job the employee may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms
• Must be able to correctly identify all colors of a color‑coded cable/wires and have good vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus

• May require travel (typically not overnight)

• Prior military experience
• HS diploma or GED equivalent
