Maintenance Mechanic II (2nd Shift

Overview

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic II, performing a variety of general maintenance and service functions; installs, maintains, repairs and fabricates plant equipment and facilities.

Onsite at our Suffolk, VA location. Relocation assistance is not available.

• Support the installation, maintenance, and fabrication of plant equipment and facilities.
• Perform assignments in building maintenance, phone data and electrical wiring, repair of conveyors, packaging equipment, fork trucks, hydraulics, HVAC equipment.
• Conduct periodic inspections, tests, and preventive maintenance on all equipment and facilities following the established schedule and report findings.
• Read and interpret mechanical or electrical schematic drawings, sketches, manuals, specifications, and written and oral instructions.
• Use hand and power tools and other equipment to complete assignments.

• High school diploma or equivalent with a combination of training and experience.
• 5+ years of maintenance experience.
• Primary and secondary trade skills including electrician, carpenter, pipefitter, air conditioning mechanic, welder, and/or machine repairer.
• Broad knowledge of pneumatic controls, packaging equipment, conveyor belts, phone and data wiring, HVAC and electrical systems, and a PC preventive maintenance program.
• Ability to repeatedly lift 50 pounds.
