This position is responsible for:
Providing social service assistance to eligible clients in the areas of food, lodging, clothing, furniture, and financial assistance; interviewing clients to determine need and eligibility to receive services; preparing accurate and complete client records; referring clients to community agencies and maintaining effective working relationships with the same; ensuring compliance with program policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greets and interviews clients requesting assistance, determines eligibility based on program guidelines and restrictions, and assists clients with completing required applications and documentation.
- Prepares and processes food, clothing, furniture, rent, utility, and other approved assistance for eligible clients, including coordination with landlords, utility providers, and other resources.
- Provides food pantry assistance; receives and stocks donated pantry items; and maintains accurate pantry disbursement and inventory records.
- Serves as a liaison with community agencies to obtain and coordinate assistance on behalf of clients and maintains effective professional working relationships.
- Prepares, files, reviews, and maintains accurate and confidential client records, service statistics, and monthly statistical reports in a timely manner.
Physical Requirements and
Working Conditions:
- Ability to meet attendance requirements.
- Duties are usually performed seated, with brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
- Limited physical effort is required for walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects weighing less than 25 lbs., approximately 5-10% of work time.
- Work is performed in a normal office environment with little or no physical discomfort associated with weather changes, noise, dust, dirt, or similar conditions.

What We Are Looking For In You- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required, with additional secretarial courses preferred; AND
- Two (2) years of experience performing clerical work in an office environment; OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
