Established in 1964, Cedar Point Club is a premier private, multi-generational country club located along the Nansemond River in Suffolk, Virginia. The club features championship golf with an 18‑hole course that has hosted all VSGA Major Championships, a scenic 9‑hole par‑3 course, and renovated practice facilities, along with tennis and pickleball, a seasonal resort‑style pool, and a clubhouse offering casual dining with fresh, seasonal fare and panoramic riverfront views.

Members enjoy a robust calendar of social events for all ages, as well as golf and tennis programming. With chef‑curated menus and versatile spaces, the club provides an ideal setting for corporate gatherings and private celebrations.

Position Summary

Cedar Point Club lifeguards ensure the safety of our members at the Aquatic Center. Our lifeguards will explain safety rules to patrons, warn them about unsafe situations, and enforce policies on showers and proper attire. Lifeguards play an instrumental role in maintaining orderliness by inspecting swimming pool areas, locker rooms and restrooms. Our lifeguards record members and their guests entering the pool, maintain pool equipment, monitor and record pool chemistry readings.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greet and direct members, and guests upon arrival and check them in
  • Explain and enforce rules and regulations
  • Maintain discipline within the pool area
  • Monitor and recognize signs of danger
  • Warn swimmers of unsafe behavior and situations
  • Administer first aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
  • Assist with general clean‑up activities
Qualifications
  • Strong swimming skills with water safety knowledge
  • Completion and up to date lifeguard, CPR, first aid (Red Cross or YMCA accepted), and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certifications
  • Willing and able to adapt to changing environment
  • Customer service oriented
  • Able to be effective within a team environment
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Minimum age and physical fitness requirements in accordance with local regulations
