Summary of RoleThe Logistics Lead is responsible for overseeing the construction logistics and stores operations supporting all Dalkia works at Hinkley Point C (HPC) and associated developments. This role ensures safe, efficient, and compliant coordination of materials, plant, equipment, and logistics activities across the project.
Acting as the intelligent owner of the logistics process, the role oversees the stores and logistics teams, manages final mile distribution, and ensures materials flow smoothly from arrival to point of use. The position plays a pivotal part in achieving construction milestones through high quality planning, coordination, and execution of logistics and warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities Logistics Operations & Distribution- Oversee and optimise the Final Mile Logistics (FML) distribution strategy for Dalkia workfaces.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and safe distribution of non-permanent & permanent material from delivery to end use locations.
- Coordinate delivery schedules with logistics superintendents, procurement, construction teams, and suppliers.
- Lead the planning and execution of unloading, handling, internal transport, and storage activities.
- Manage the receipt, inspection, storage, issue, and traceability of materials within the Dalkia stores compound.
- Maintain accurate inventory using warehouse management systems.
- Ensure all materials are stored in line with quality standards and nuclear compliance requirements.
- Oversee housekeeping, stock accuracy, and audit readiness.
- Provide leadership to logistics superintendents, non‑working supervisors, operatives, storekeepers, and distribution teams.
- Ensure Daily Activity Briefings (DABs) are being suitably undertaken and ensure compliance with RAMS and site safety procedures.
- Coach, mentor, and develop the logistics team in line with HPC & Dalkia values and expected behaviours.
- Ensure teams follow standardised logistics and stores processes.
- Carry out Site Leadership Tours and Inspections of all Dalkia Logistics Areas.
- Ensure strict adherence to HPC & Dalkia Health & Safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Protect Sensitive Nuclear Information (SNI) in line with EDF policies.
