Serving Northeastern BC and surrounding area since 2002, Qwest Helicopters is looking for experienced full‑time Helicopter Pilots to join our team. Our fleet consists of AS350s (BA, B1, B2 and B3), Bell 206s, a Bell 205 and Dauphin 365N1s.

We are seeking permanent full-time pilots who are willing to relocate to Fort Nelson, but would be considered a rotation for the right candidate.

The Pilot-in-Command is responsible to the Chief Pilot for the safe conduct of assigned flights. Specific duties include:

  • Conducting flights in strict adherence with Company procedures;
  • Conducting flights in accordance with Canadian Aviation Regulations, the Rotorcraft Flight Manual (RFM), and the Company Operations Manual (COM);
  • Checking weather and all applicable NOTAMs,
  • Calculating correct fuel and oil requirements;
  • Calculating the helicopter weight and balance;
  • Completing an Operational Flight Plan;
  • Completing the VFR Flight Plan/Flight Itinerary;
  • Completing an aircraft pre‑flight inspection before each departure;
  • Supervise or carry out the loading and securing of cargo, baggage and/or freight;
  • Safety briefing for passengers or “persons carried on board” (aerial work operations); and,
  • Completing all post flight duties, including notification/confirmation to the Company of the whereabouts of the helicopter when away from base, recording flight times and any defects.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Current Canadian CPL (H) or ATPL (H) and Medical
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Pre‑employment drug and alcohol testing is required
  • Minimum 1500hrs PIC rotary time
  • BC approved Mountain Course
  • Must be fluent in English
  • Must have firefighting experience – bucketing
  • Wildlife experience is an asset
  • Type endorsements on AS350 and Bell 206 is an asset
