Job Description
In an hourly capacity, transport equipment and supplies using tractor trailer and accessories. Operate roadway maintenance equipment; perform preventive maintenance; and perform manual labor tasks during routine and emergency response operations.

How You Will Contribute- Delivery of Fuel, Equipment or Supplies:
Schedule and make deliveries to field locations and equipment shops. Communicate with stakeholders to determine most effective delivery method. - Equipment Operation:
Operate a tractor trailer combination or wrecker truck for transporting various materials, automobiles and equipment. Load and unload trucks. Complete and maintain all required documentation regarding movement of equipment and supplies. - Manual Labor:
Perform manual labor and other maintenance tasks as needed for project completion. Complete assigned work as instructed in established time frames. - Miscellaneous Duties:
Perform miscellaneous duties around work area when not delivering or picking up equipment and supplies. - Preventative Maintenance:
Perform maintenance repair, replacement and preventative maintenance. Complete pre-trip inspections for any vehicle or equipment operated.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to complete simple forms.
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor.
- Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work independently.
- Skill in the operation of multiple axle truck and trailer combinations.
- Skill in the use of hand and power tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor.
- Ability to provide customer service and interact with a diverse customer base.
- Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to fuel handling and delivery.
- Possession of CDL and DOT medical card and ability to maintain thereafter. Must comply with DOT and VDOT policies and standards when operating CDL equipment.
- Safety shoes required.
- Skill in the operation of multiple axle truck and trailer combinations.
- Skill in the use of hand and power tools.
- A combination of training, experience, or education in Vehicle Operations, or related field desired.
- Experience operating tractor trailers for fuel deliveries or low-boy for moving equipment and supplies.
- Knowledge of highway maintenance equipment, materials, methods and procedures.
