Newly appointed Border Protection Officers may receive up to a $15,000 annual incentive for a three or four‑year service contract in specific locations.
Annual base salary for newly appointed Officers ranges from $40,332 to $109,952, based on grade level and location, with potential for up to $45,000 in overtime pay.
Job RequirementsEligibility for the GS‑5 and GS‑7 grade levels requires relevant work experience and/or education. You may qualify for higher levels if you have previous law enforcement or military experience.
Other Qualifications- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- U.S. residency for at least three of the last five years
- Age restriction applies; candidates must be under 40 unless they have prior law enforcement experience
Selected candidates will complete a pre‑academy orientation and undergo rigorous training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA, covering a wide range of law enforcement skills and procedures.
