The Village of Sugar Grove Community Development Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Part Time Building Inspector.
Under the direction of the Community Development Director, this position will perform a variety of routine and complex technical work in building inspection and plan review area to ensure that the Village Building Code and other related codes and ordinances are met.
The position enforces building related codes as adopted by the Village Board, which may include the International Building, Mechanical, and Property Maintenance Codes, the National Electric Code, and local codes such as sprinkling, nuisance, clearing, grading, filling, and zoning, etc. Issues correction notices and citations.
DesiredMinimum Qualifications
- Graduation from a standard senior high school or GED equivalent.
- Four (4) years of experience in general construction and related fields.
- ICC Certified Building Inspector, Residential Building Inspector, or ability to obtain certifications within one (1) year of hiring.
- Plans Examiner and Residential Plans Examiner certifications (Preferred).
- Must have a valid Driver’s License.
