Position: Senior Tax Preparer - CPA Required

Description

Prepare corporate, partnership, fiduciary, non-profit, and personal income tax returns and extensions, including complex tax planning calculations for all entities.

Bring a high level of demonstrated technical proficiency to serve clients and develop long‑lasting client relationships.

Take direction and report to the Tax Managers as well as Partners.

Engage in consulting and special projects as requested.

Manage and monitor client deliverables and due dates with excellent organizational skills.

Perform both compliance and consulting for clients to optimize entity structures and tax strategies.

Communicate with IRS, state agencies, and clients in connection with audits, inquiries, and tax notices.

Prepare complex U.S. and multi‑state income tax returns for all entities as well as Compiled Financial Statements for various entities, including work papers, accounting, and adjusting entries.

Conduct complex tax research and prepare memorandums outlining findings and conclusions.

Assist with planning and implementation of special projects.

Develop and sustain strong client relationships while keeping up to date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.

Communicate directly with existing clients, colleagues, management, and IRS representatives regarding various tax matters.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required;
Masters in Tax is preferred.

CPA Certification in Texas required.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in public accounting, including corporate and partnership tax.

Working knowledge of state income/franchise tax for multistate filers.

Demonstrated success cultivating client relationships.

Extraordinary verbal and written communication skills.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time permanent basis.

Strong time management and organizational skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Ultra Tax, Quick Books or equivalent accounting software.
