Job Overview
Student Worker Summer will provide clerical and office support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Maintain confidentiality of district employees and students
- Assist with office and program‑wide clerical activities
- Assist in answering incoming calls; deliver messages or other items and place outgoing calls
- Perform department‑specific projects and duties as required
- Receive/distribute mail and serve as office receptionist
- Operate typewriter, computer keyboard, utilizing assigned word‑processing, spreadsheet and database programs; may use other computer programs. Operate a variety of business office equipment as required
- Photocopy materials and forms for administrators; proofread correspondence, reports etc., may update and/or correct material received from another office or clerical staff members
- May order office supplies, forms etc. and maintain supply/form inventories
- Research data and verify accuracy of any department documentation required for processing
- Assist and/or serve as back‑up to other clerical/secretarial in the office setting to which assigned
- Serve school patrons, employees of the district and new personnel as appropriate
- Acquire knowledge of the current computer system

Qualifications- Current high school student
- Valid Texas Driver’s License or Texas
- Previous experience working with school‑age children preferred, if applicable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computing skills, including MS office

Attendance at conferences and professional development is required. Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.
