Summary

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Inventory-Demand Planner plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing the balance between supply and demand. This position involves forecasting demand and ensuring availability to meet business objectives and customer satisfaction. The Inventory-Demand Planner is essential in minimizing costs, enhancing efficiencies, and boosting profitability through strategic inventory management and forecast accuracy. The role requires managing complexities in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating problem-solving skills, and adapting to changing demands.

A blend of analytical skills and business acumen is necessary to ensure supply chain and production capabilities meet or exceed demand forecasts, driving business success.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Minimize stock outs and oversee all inventory movements.
  • Manage demand planning and management processes for new and existing products.
  • Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to develop forecasts for existing and new products, manage allocations, and handle expiry dates.
  • Develop and manage annual, monthly, and quarterly demand plans to meet organizational objectives, including key accounts.
  • Prepare and support collaboration meetings for inventory planning.
  • Manage import and tracking of replenishment shipments via ocean and air freight.
  • Consult with suppliers on orders, inventory, and prioritization of containers.
  • Utilize SAP to update live inventory data.
  • Coordinate with the operations team to update inventory files and prepare for monthly reviews.
  • Track costs related to container deliveries to third-party locations.
  • Identify potential hazards proactively and implement contingency plans to minimize disruptions and ensure business continuity.
  • Manage special and ad-hoc projects as required.
  • Oversee logistics for exporting and importing goods.
  • Key Accounts

    Latin America (LATAM), Caribbean, and Canada:

  • Consult with distributors to determine accurate inventory levels.
  • Communicate production orders with responsible facilities.
  • Follow up on production status and provide updates to LATAM and Caribbean teams.
  • Ensure timely delivery for LATAM, Caribbean, and Canadian customers.
  • Coordinate export processes, ensuring compliance, shipment notifications, and billing.
  • Optimize transportation modes and lead times to maximize customer satisfaction at minimal cost.
  • Amazon/FBA (Domestic and International):

  • Collaborate with 3PL to analyze inventory and ensure timely order delivery.
  • Ensure warehouse files and labels are prepared for weekly FBA dispatches.
  • Upload shipments in Seller Central for both Canada and USA.
  • Ensure timely dispatches from the Canada warehouse.
  • Address FBA receiving discrepancies by opening cases in Seller Central.
  • Leverage lead times and transportation modes to maximize customer satisfaction at the lowest cost.
  • Required Qualifications

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in Inventory Planning and Logistics.
    • Fluent in English;
      Spanish is a plus.
    • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
    • High proficiency in Excel.
    • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Statistics, or related business field preferred.
    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong skills in Microsoft Office products.
    • Effective interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
    • Onsite work preferred at our Sugar Land, TX office.
