Job Overview

Digital Media Coordinator serves as content developer and coordinator of content placement utilizing the district’s social media assets. This incumbent also provides support in graphic design, writing, editing and distributing news releases and taking accompanying photographs and video, as well as supporting the communications team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Communications and Content Development
  • Inform stakeholders of the District’s mission, vision, and commitment to student success.
  • Write, edit, and review internal and external communication materials with a focus on key messages and intended audience.
  • Draft and execute communication plans that support the District’s priorities, brand, and public image.
  • Develop and distribute public relations campaigns for stakeholders, community members, and media entities.
  • Provide support for district wide communications initiatives, including event planning, campaigns, and execution.
Social Media Strategy and Digital Engagement
  • Build and execute a comprehensive social media strategy through competitive research, platform selection, benchmarking, messaging, and influencer engagement.
  • Generate, edit, publish, and share content (text, images, video, HTML) that fosters meaningful engagement with community members and stakeholders.
  • Manage day-to-day engagements and interactions across all District and Superintendent social media accounts.
  • Provide social media support to campuses, ensuring alignment with District guidelines and messaging standards.
  • Monitor, capture, and analyze social data/metrics and apply findings to improve engagement.
  • Stay current on market trends, educational news, and emerging digital marketing practices; apply and share new techniques with the team.
Brand Awareness, Marketing, and Reputation Management
  • Monitor and manage the reputation of the school district to reinforce safe and supportive learning environments.
  • Develop and execute marketing campaigns that build brand awareness and stakeholder buy-in.
  • Draft strategic communication plans that align with the District’s mission, vision, and Profile of a Graduate.
  • Conduct media monitoring for FBISD news mentions and other relevant education-related topics.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team on campaigns and projects to ensure district goals are met.

Qualification Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Public relations, journalism, communications or other related field, preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of strategic communications experience
  • Demonstrated experience working as a social media content developer
  • Demonstrated experience managing the engagement function of a brand's social media assets
  • Excellent communication skills with an emphasis in writing and editing, including working knowledge of Associated Press style and grammar, while meeting strict deadlines
  • Photography and videography skills and samples to review
  • Excellent organizational and computer skills with attention to detail
  • Demonstrated experience working as a print writer and script writer in an educational oriented environment preferred
