Job Overview
The Teacher Literacy Intervention Elementary Title I will provide focused literacy interventions to selected elementary students at the assigned campus. The incumbent will provide leadership and coaching to teachers on effective English/Language Arts and Reading instruction as well as guidance to Title I ELA teachers in utilizing effective reading and writing practices within the classroom setting. This position will assist with assessing and evaluating student achievement, modifying instructional activities as required, communicating student progress to classroom teachers, campus administrators and parents and fulfilling the duties required by the principal on a Title I campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide intensive literacy intervention to identified small groups of students using “pull-out” and “push-in” models
- Work collaboratively with teachers to deliver exemplary literacy instruction to all students
- Use data to assist teachers to identify and group students who need additional literacy supports
- Participate in RtI meetings, including Section 504 services, campus support teams, educational services, etc.
- Provide training and support through academic coaching, co‑teaching, lesson modeling, facilitating, etc. when working with the classroom teacher
- Participate in and lead ongoing and job-embedded professional development in the area of literacy
- Attend training for methods and strategies that improve general reading instruction and demonstrate best practices
- Participate in professional growth and development and stay abreast of current research through continuing education, campus/district-level professional development and meetings, educational seminars, workshops, conferences, membership in professional organizations, etc.
- Maintain and submit documentation to support intervention activities that address the Comprehensive Needs Assessment which is included in the Campus Improvement Plan in compliance with Title I

- Bachelor's Degree
- Master's Degree preferred
- Valid Texas Teacher Certification – elementary certification required; current ESL certification
- Valid Texas ESL Certification – current ESL certification
- Minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience in English/Language Arts or Reading at the elementary level
- Extensive knowledge and experience working with students who require reading and writing intervention
- Thorough understanding of reading and writing research and instructional strategies
- Strong oral and written communication skills, both orally and in writing
- Ability to share expertise with peers while working with students and providing job-embedded professional development
- Leadership ability and experience in providing coaching and support to classroom teachers in the area of literacy
