Telling a student who earned 99% that they fell short may be the most supportive thing you can do.
The reason isn't perfectionism. It's respect—the belief that they're capable of more.
While most schools shield students from failure, Alpha equips them for success. We don't build confidence by lowering standards. We build it by helping students accomplish what they once believed impossible. That principle informs everything we do.
Our approach is intentionally different. Students master academics independently through AI-powered platforms, which allows adults to concentrate on what truly transforms lives: coaching character, cultivating resilience, nurturing leadership, and instilling habits that produce exceptional outcomes. We don't need content delivery. We need leaders who understand how to unlock human potential.
This position anchors that mission. You'll develop the Guides who work directly with students, transforming them into powerful coaches rather than traditional instructors. You'll facilitate life skills workshops that leave lasting impressions on students for years. You'll analyze performance data to pinpoint where students or Guides need support, then coach them toward excellence. You'll also maintain your own student cohort, embodying the standards you expect from others.
The impact multiplies exponentially. Each Guide you develop influences dozens of students. Every cultural enhancement you implement cascades across hundreds of young lives. Success isn't defined by meetings attended or reports generated. It's defined by whether students grow more confident, disciplined, resilient, and capable because of the environment you cultivated.
This position isn't designed for someone seeking to maintain existing educational structures. It's for someone who believes young people deserve more than compliance, seat time, and mediocre expectations. If coaching people through challenging situations energizes you, if you rely on data to inform decisions, and if you maintain high standards because you genuinely believe in others' capacity to meet them, you'll excel here.
WhatYou Will Be Doing
- Develop and coach Guides to execute Alpha's coaching model with consistency, enthusiasm, and rigorous standards.
- Facilitate compelling life skills workshops on communication, focus, feedback, leadership, and resilience for K-8 students using established playbooks.
- Analyze student and Guide performance data to surface coaching opportunities, eliminate obstacles, and produce measurable weekly improvements.
- Conduct motivation sessions that empower every student to embrace ambitious goals and consistently reach them.
- Lead your own student cohort while demonstrating the coaching quality and accountability you require from all Guides.
- Delivering academic instruction. Students master core academics independently using AI-powered learning platforms.
- Creating lesson plans or developing curriculum. Your focus is outstanding coaching, not producing instructional content.
- Running classrooms through lectures, worksheets, or behavior management systems. Students drive their own learning, and you coach the habits that enable success.
- Reducing standards to sidestep challenging discussions. High expectations and authentic belief in every student's capability are inseparable.
- Defining success by activity rather than outcomes. Results carry more weight than effort alone.
Key Responsibilities
Create a coaching culture in which outstanding Guides reliably develop students who are enthusiastic about school, master academics at an accelerated rate, and cultivate the resilience, leadership, and life skills necessary to thrive well beyond the classroom.
