Location: Houston / Project Office (with periodic site visits to Nigeria as needed)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Deputy Lead Process Engineer to support the delivery of process engineering for a complex deepwater offshore oil and gas development. This role assists the Lead Process Engineer in managing FEED and execution phases, with an emphasis on safety, operability, and compliance with international design standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Process Engineering team in managing all process engineering deliverables.
  • Ensure alignment with process safety standards including HAZOP, SIL, and LOPA.
  • Perform process simulations and validate design parameters using Aspen HYSYS or similar tools.
  • Coordinate with piping, mechanical, instrumentation, and operations teams to ensure process integrity.
  • Review PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment datasheets for accuracy and completeness.
  • Participate in technical audits and contribute to design reviews and risk assessments.
  • Support commissioning and start-up planning with respect to process systems.
  • Ensure process documentation is up to date and aligned with project milestones.
Requirements:
  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • 10+ years of engineering-related experience in the oil, gas, or chemical manufacturing industry preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience with offshore project development and/or execution preferred.
  • 5+ years of lead engineer experience preferred.
  • Troubleshooting Process issues at units.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) required.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and solution advocate.

Note:

This role may require periodic travel to fabrication yards and offshore sites depending on project execution needs.
