Product Design Engineer

Location: Sugar Land, Texas (onsite) - relocation package included (if needed)

We are seeking a Product Development Engineer to support the development and execution of physical consumer products, with a strong focus on mechanical design, refinement, and production readiness.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the later stages of product development-translating concepts into manufacturable designs and ensuring products are optimized for production. You will play a key role in unblocking bottlenecks in the refinement phase and helping bring products successfully to market.

Responsibilities

• Own the refinement and development phase of products, ensuring designs are ready for manufacturing

• Translate early concepts into detailed CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings

• Drive Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) efforts

• Partner closely with internal teams and external manufacturers to ensure production feasibility and quality

• Support prototyping, testing, and iteration to validate product performance and manufacturability

• Collaborate with suppliers and factories (including overseas partners) on tooling, materials, and production processes

• Identify and resolve engineering challenges during development and pre-production

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of experience in product development, mechanical design, or engineering

• Experience working on physical consumer products (housewares, cookware, appliances, or similar)

• Strong proficiency in Solid Works (or similar 3D CAD software)

• Hands-on experience with DFM / DFA

• Experience with manufacturing processes

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with housewares, cookware, or kitchen products

• Experience working with overseas manufacturing partners

• Familiarity with prototyping and testing processes
