Position: H&H Engineer | Land Development (Stormwater & Floodplain)

Hydraulic & Hydrology Engineer | Land Development (Stormwater & Floodplain)

We’re a fast-growing civil engineering and land development group in Texas that is looking to add a Hydraulic & Hydrology Engineer to support ongoing and upcoming site development projects across the region.

This role is focused on technical hydrology and hydraulic modeling work tied directly to land development — supporting both private and public-sector infrastructure projects. You’ll be responsible for producing and reviewing drainage and stormwater models, supporting site feasibility and design, and ensuring compliance with local and federal floodplain requirements.

Core Responsibilities
  • Hydraulic and hydrology modeling for land/site development projects
  • Stormwater and drainage analysis for residential and commercial developments
  • Support FEMA-related floodplain studies and submittals (LOMR, CLOMR, LOMR-F)
  • Collaborate with civil engineers and design teams on site development plans
  • Prepare technical documentation and reports supporting permitting and approvals
Required Experience & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Hydraulic Engineering (or closely related field)
  • 3+ years of experience in hydrology/hydraulic modeling within land development (required)
  • Strong proficiency with HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS (1D steady/unsteady and 2D)
  • Experience with GIS, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and related stormwater modeling tools
  • Strong understanding of FEMA floodplain regulations and submittal processes
  • Familiarity with drainage criteria for Texas agencies (TxDOT, Harris County, Fort Bend, Waller, Brazoria, Montgomery, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • PE license preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months
What Makes This Opportunity Strong
  • Direct involvement in active land development projects from concept through completion
  • Highly technical, design-focused role with real project impact
  • Exposure to large-scale civil and infrastructure development across Texas
  • Opportunity to grow within a stable, expanding engineering group
