Our Partner is seeking an accomplished engineering leader with 15+ years of progressive, hands‑on experience directing integrated design teams within the aerospace sector. This role requires a technical background that bridges both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering design, allowing for the holistic development of complex multidisciplinary systems.
The ideal candidate will have experience leading the end‑to‑end development of ruggedized computing platforms and electronic enclosures engineered to withstand extreme vibration, thermal stress, and electromagnetic interference. This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring a practical problem solver who can balance strategic team management with active participation in laboratory prototyping, testing, and design reviews to deliver mission‑critical aerospace hardware.
Roles and Responsibilities- Multidisciplinary Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a combined team of Electrical and Mechanical Design Engineers, fostering collaboration and technical excellence.
- Integrated System Design: Oversee the architectural layout and detailed design of electronic systems, ensuring seamless integration between circuit cards, power distribution, thermal management, and structural enclosures.
- Hands‑on Technical Guidance: Participate directly in design activities, schematic reviews, computer‑aided design modeling, and laboratory troubleshooting to solve complex engineering bottlenecks.
- Ruggedized Product Development: Direct the design and analysis of ruggedized computing systems optimized for shock, vibration, thermal extremes, and electromagnetic compatibility in aerospace environments.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the primary technical liaison between Design Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and external program stakeholders.
- Resource and Budget Management: Allocate engineering resources, define project schedules, estimate development costs, and track technical performance metrics across multiple programs.

Lead the definition of environmental test plans and witness physical qualification testing, including thermal vacuum and random vibration testing.
Academic Credentials
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
- A Master of Science in Engineering or Engineering Management is highly desirable.
- Minimum Requirements: A minimum of fifteen years of professional, hands‑on design experience in aerospace electronics development with at least five years in a dedicated supervisory or engineering management role.
