About the RoleWe are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer who thrives on owning projects from concept through production. In this role, you will design and customize pressure-containing equipment and mechanical systems for a range of industrial applications.
This is a hands-on engineering position where your designs are not just theoretical—you’ll see them built, tested, and used in real-world environments.
Key Responsibilities- Design and modify pressure-containing equipment and mechanical assemblies using Solid Works
- Interpret customer specifications, datasheets, and industry requirements to develop compliant design solutions
- Perform engineering calculations (pressure design, stress analysis, tolerances, material selection)
- Ensure designs meet applicable codes and standards (e.g., ASME, PED, IECEx, CRN)
- Create and release detailed drawings, models, routers, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
- Support product testing, certification, and technical documentation
- Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, sales, and quality teams
- Apply design for manufacturability (DFM) principles to improve production efficiency
- Troubleshoot design issues and contribute to continuous product improvement
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- Strong proficiency in Solid Works or similar 3D CAD software
- Familiar with ASME codes and pressure-containing equipment design
- Understanding of machining, fabrication, and assembly processes
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive, ownership mindset
- 3+ years of mechanical design experience in oil & gas, energy, or industrial manufacturing
- Experience with:
- Valves, regulators, or pressure control equipment
- Instrumentation or electrical components
- Engineering calculations
- Validating designs
- Familiarity with certification standards (PED, CRN, IECEx)
- Work on real, built products from concept to production
