Regulatory Compliance Specialist, Financial Manager
Union Benefits Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing a team of 3 to 5 Union Benefits Analysts for our union areas in the West, Central, and/or East, as well as being responsible for multi‑state union processing and reporting of fringe benefits based on Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA) and maintaining rules in the Entitlement Management System (EMS) for one or two of the larger, more complicated union areas.
The union segment requires a different approach when processing union payments based on the numerous union contracts that ABM is involved with yearly. A successful candidate will have strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with Accounting/Finance, Revenue Billing, FP&A, Human Resources, Legal, Labor Managers, Operations, and Union Representatives or Fund Representatives.

Responsibilities- Help recruit, supervise, and lead the union processing team with a focus on continuous improvement and staffing development
- Obtain renewed CBA from Operations or Legal Team to update expired rules for all companies in all systems
- Work with our analyst to create and set up new union codes as new CBAs are obtained
- Maintain and update union benefit rules in the EMS and perform routine audits of these rules and guide/train the team as needed
- Work closely with FP&A and Benefits Accounting to ensure all union payments are recorded timely and accurately and assist with month‑end financial close and questions
- Work with the Union Audit Manager as needed to gather necessary documents for analysis with detailed review of audit periods for each employee to present findings and ensure all union audits are tracked accrued timely & accurately
- Communicate with union and/or fund representatives to ensure timely processing of payments and oversee any union audit requests
- Review and approve new union code(s) created by the team
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of union CBAs
- Process union payments per CBA entitlements
- Review and compare monthly invoices from the union to ABM’s calculated invoices
- Reconcile monthly accruals versus payments and research any discrepancies
- Perform routine review and analysis of employer and employee cost sharing of union benefits
- Assist in annual Year‑End Multi‑Employer reporting to the SEC team as needed
- Communicate with Accounting, local HR, Payroll, and Operations to resolve issues with the processing of union payments
- Perform routine review and analysis of the Union roster’s compared to ABM’s employee union roster
- Assist with month‑end financial close and questions relating to union benefits
- Comply with HIPAA Rules and Regulations
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
- Job duties or responsibilities may be modified as needed to reflect changing priorities and/or work conditions with ABM
- 4‑year college degree required
- Supervisory and management experience desired
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Union benefit experience preferred
- Understanding of payroll processing requirements is a plus
- Demonstrated organization and high level of analytical and quantitative skills
- Strong project management, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
- Commitment to teamwork through relationship‑building, reliability, and collaboration
- Must be detail oriented and have strong analysis and communications skills
- Possess a positive attitude with a strong desire to learn
- Ability to work within deadlines and on multiple projects concurrently in a fast‑paced environment
