Principal Accountant (Grants)
The City of Sugar Land seeks a full‑time Principal Accountant in the Finance Department. Salary range: $74,443 - $85,612 depending on experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities- Ensure the City’s financial operations are accurate, reliable, and fully compliant with Federal, State, and local requirements.
- Stay informed on financial activity across departments and support sound financial decision‑making.
- Maintain the integrity of accounts and play a key role in supporting sound financial decision‑making.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Five years of accounting experience, including at least three years specifically in grant accounting.
- Municipal experience preferred.
- Experience with Tyler Munis and Executim software preferred.
Applicants must be detail‑oriented, accountable, and capable of managing time effectively in a professional‑casual environment.
