Certified Medical Assistant

Overview

Private Rheumatology Medical Clinic has an immediate opening for a full-time Bilingual CMA. 100% outpatient clinic. Will need proficient knowledge in prior authorizations of biologicals.

• Patient intake, including recording medications, medical history, vitals, etc.
• Discussion of abnormal labs and imaging results with patients.
• Call in prescription medications.
• Basic knowledge of lab values and imaging studies.
• Familiarity and experience with EHR systems.
• Manage refill requests.
• Coordinate new start medications.
• Injection teaching. Injection administration is a plus.
• Phlebotomy experience is a plus.
• EKG experience a plus.
• Assist with general clinic support as needed.

• Up-to-date CMA license a plus.
• TWO years of experience in an outpatient clinic setting or healthcare setting.
• Spanish speaking bilingual a plus.
• Rheumatology experience preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Must have experience with EHR systems – ECW (E-clinical Works is a plus).
• Must have the ability to understand and communicate abnormal labs and imaging results to patients by phone.
• Interpersonal skills to coordinate patient flow and interact with staff and providers.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

• Must live within a 30-minute drive to the clinic in Sugar Land (zip code 77478).
• Job Type: Full-time
• Salary: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
• Expected hours: 40 per week
