Performs review, and correction of patient client insurance and charge information for assigned Healix managed sites to assure accuracy of charges. Posts charges in clinical billing software to assure timely transmission to the insurance billing department.

I.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Reviews charge records and related patient information from multiple systems on a daily basis for accuracy and completeness;

Maintains patient insurance and special pricing requests in the billing software;

Makes authorized revisions/corrections to charge data as necessary;

Notifies immediate supervisor and/or the clinical departments if unable to correct or resolve data errors that prevent accurate billing;

Responsible for data entry, charge review and posting of billed charges for assigned sites according to department policy; and assisting with nursing department data entry when requested to maintain timely client billing;

Prepares accounting period reports for review by management; and performs billing close functions as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
