Location:
University of Houston Sugar Land Campus. The role supports both Sugar Land and Katy Campuses.
- Maintain integrity and security of the operating system environment.
- Perform software installations, upgrades, and maintenance on hardware and operating system software in accordance with IT policies.
- Perform server administration setup.
- Coordinate disk space planning and management.
- Perform data backups and recoveries.
- Support media management through internal methods and offsite storage and retrieval services.
- Provide recommendations regarding hardware and system software planning and budgeting.
- Participate in change control.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
MQ:
Requires thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge typically obtained through a formal, directly job‑related 4‑year degree or equivalent specialized training program. Minimum of one (1) year of directly job‑related experience.
Education may be considered in lieu of experience, and experience may be considered in lieu of education. The department will consider education in lieu of experience.
