Data Analyst
Location: Sugar Land, TX
Telework Type: Part-Time Telework (at least three days in person per week)
Field Operations Systems Specialist responsible for proactively enabling field and operations teams through hands–on training, system adoption support, and frontline hardware troubleshooting across field operations. Focuses on building user competency, resolving device and system issues, and ensuring accurate, well‑maintained data across systems such as Tool Hound, Horse Trader, PEMS, and Trackunit. Primarily centered on proactive enablement, issue prevention, and continuous improvement rather than reactive ticket resolution.
FieldEnablement & Training
- Design and deliver hands‑on, role‑based training for field and operations users (in‑person and virtual)
- Leverage a coaching mindset focused on proactive user enablement, not reactive support
- Create clear job aids, quick‑start guides, and SOPs that reinforce best practices
- Assess user skill gaps and tailor education to varying technical comfort levels
- Support and troubleshoot field‑facing hardware (telematics devices, trackers, scanners, mobile devices, gateways)
- Diagnose connectivity, power, installation, and data‑flow issues from device to system
- Work across integrated platforms, understanding hardware, software, and data interactions
- Validate device status, configurations, and data accuracy with strong attention to detail
- Build and maintain operational reports and dashboards (Excel, Power BI, or similar)
- Validate, reconcile, and monitor data quality to ensure reports are accurate and trusted
- Identify trends, gaps, or anomalies and translate them into actionable insights
- Work with large datasets without being a dedicated data analyst
- Translate complex systems, workflows, and technical issues into clear, everyday language
- Communicate effectively in written and verbal form tailored to field crews, supervisors, and leadership
- Simplify workflows, reduce manual effort, and promote consistent process adoption
- Influence without authority by aligning solutions to operational needs
- Own and manage system health, adoption, and usability
- Proactively identify and prevent issues before they impact operations
- Partner cross‑functionally with operations, IT, vendors, and support teams
- Organize and manage multiple priorities in a field‑driven environment
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 2–5 years of relevant experience, or 6–9 years of relevant work experience
- 2–3 years of experience in data analysis, reporting, system administration, or technical support
- Strong proficiency in data management, reporting, and data quality validation
- Experience with reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) and data analysis techniques
- Ability to translate operational requirements into structured reports and dashboards
- Strong communication skills with the ability to train and support non‑technical users
- Experience creating documentation, training materials, and process guides
- High attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and consistency
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross‑functionally
- Experience with fleet/asset management systems (Toolhound, Horse trader, PEMS, Trackunit, or similar)
- Experience building dashboards in Microsoft Power BI or similar tools
- Basic SQL knowledge for querying and validating data
- Experience with training delivery and instructional design
- Understanding of system integrations and data flow between platforms
- Background in construction, logistics, or asset‑intensive environments
