Position

Press Assistant – Sugar Land, TX (Hourly Rate: $17.00 – $19.00)

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Press Operator in setting up and operating a Windmoller & Holscher printing machine safely and effectively.
  • Comply with established safety policies and procedures.
  • Order film and packaging from the warehouse.
  • Load, position, and adjust unprinted materials on holding fixtures or in equipment loading and feeding mechanisms.
  • Blend, manage, mix, store, and maintain solvent‑based inks according to material type and work order specifications.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and process issues.
  • Generate labels to track production output, scrap, and rolls.
  • Package and palletize material utilizing a hoist.
  • Operate electric forklifts to maneuver pallets to designated areas.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of press components and work area.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Basic math skills; must pass the New Hire Base Assessment Test.
  • Good color vision and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable with computer applications including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools.
  • Ability to operate stand‑up and sit‑down forklifts.
  • Manual coordination and dexterity.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 12‑hour shift work experience preferred.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, understand, and comprehend documents such as safety rules, internal quality procedures, and quality check lists.
  • Ability to communicate production and machine issues to supervisors and others in work areas.
Physical Requirements
  • Periodic lifting up to approximately 50 lbs.
  • Walking, squatting, crouching, turning, twisting, stretching, climbing steps, grabbing, pulling, pushing, and bending.
  • Ability to move large and/or oddly shaped heavy objects.
  • Hearing and color vision acuity for machine set‑up.
