Position: Lab Technician (Nights)

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and non-routine testing on raw materials, in process materials, and finished products to ensure quality compliance.
  • Collect, prepare, measure, and analyze material samples for laboratory testing.
  • Conduct quality inspections across production stages including Extrusion, Press, Converter, and finished goods.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory testing equipment according to standard procedures.
  • Document test results and maintain accurate laboratory records and tracking systems.
  • Identify and report nonconforming materials or products and notify appropriate teams for corrective action.
  • Support investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for quality issues.
  • Assist with incoming raw material inspections and supplier quality verification.
  • Provide quality support across Production, Warehouse, Customer Service, Demand Planning, Stockroom, and Paper operations.
  • Participate in internal, customer, and certification audits.
  • Maintain laboratory organization, safety, and compliance with company procedures.
  • Communicate testing results and provide daily shift reports.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum of an associate degree in a technical, scientific, or related field.
  • Laboratory, manufacturing, or quality experience is a plus but not required; entry-level candidates are welcome to apply, as full training will be provided.
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication). Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory testing methods and quality control processes.
  • Strong attention to detail with accurate data collection, documentation, and recordkeeping.
  • Effective analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for data entry, tracking, and reporting.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across production, quality, and operations teams.
  • Ability to adapt and work effectively in a fast-paced environment with rotating responsibilities.
  • Ability to operate laboratory and analytical testing equipment. Experience with GC/MS Headspace, OTR/WVTR systems, DSC, or similar analytical instruments is a plus.
Physical Requirements
  • Wears required PPE, including safety shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection on the production floor.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move materials up to 25 to 50 pounds.
  • Safely handle laboratory samples, tools, and testing equipment.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise, and production activity.
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with strong attention to detail.
