Equipment Technician - Electronic Manufacturing Cleanroom

We are seeking a skilled Equipment Technician to support equipment and production engineers in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving tools used within a wafer manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for equipment repair, preventive maintenance, and operational support to ensure production efficiency, product quality, and equipment reliability. The technician will also assist Facilities and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) teams with cleanroom utilities, chemical handling, and infrastructure support while contributing to the installation, modification, and construction of specialized production tools.

• Support equipment and production engineers with the installation, commissioning, and upgrade of manufacturing equipment and production tools.
• Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair activities to maximize equipment uptime and performance.
• Monitor production tools and support systems, identifying alarms, warning indicators, and performance deviations, and escalate issues as needed.
• Conduct routine inspections of cleanroom utility systems, including DI water, nitrogen supply, gas cylinders, pumps, chillers, filters, and cooling water systems.
• Assist Facilities and EHS teams with the safe handling, treatment, and disposal of chemicals and hazardous waste materials.
• Maintain chemical inventories and support materials control activities, including the storage and replenishment of acids, solvents, and production materials.
• Collaborate with engineers to build, modify, and enhance custom production equipment and fixtures.
• Perform mechanical and electrical assembly, adjustment, and repair using hand tools and power tools.
• Support equipment operation through maintenance of pumps, chillers, filtration systems, and facility infrastructure.
• Utilize microscopes and inspection equipment to evaluate electronic components, assemblies, and production tooling.
• Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical documentation.
• Perform electronics assembly and repair tasks, including PCB troubleshooting, soldering, and electrical wiring.
• Support cleanroom Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) production activities, assembly operations, and equipment-related projects.
• Follow all safety procedures and EHS requirements when working with chemicals, compressed gases, electrical systems, and production equipment.
• Partner with engineering, facilities, EHS, and materials teams to support continuous manufacturing operations and process improvements.

• Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working with electrical, mechanical, and/or chemical systems in a manufacturing, fabrication, laboratory, or production environment.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment.
• Working knowledge of pumps, chillers, filtration systems, cooling water systems, and related support equipment.
• Experience in a cleanroom, semiconductor, electronics manufacturing, or similar high-tech production environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Proficiency with hand tools and power tools used in mechanical and electrical assembly.
• Basic electrical wiring and soldering skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality, safety, and process compliance.
• Ability to monitor equipment performance, document findings, and communicate technical issues effectively.

• Experience servicing pumps, chillers, cooling water systems, filtration systems, and compressed gas delivery equipment.
• Familiarity with chemical handling procedures and hazardous waste management.
• Basic machine shop experience, including drilling, cutting, polishing, and fabrication.
• Basic plumbing knowledge and facility maintenance experience.
• Experience with electronics assembly, PCB repair, soldering, and component-level troubleshooting.
• Experience in semiconductor, biomedical, chemical processing, or industrial maintenance environments.
• Experience using microscopes and precision inspection equipment.
• Comfortable performing hands-on assembly, inspection, and production support tasks.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across Engineering, Facilities, EHS, and Operations teams.
