GC Lab Technician
Location: Sugar Land, TX
Pay: $26-$27/hour, depending on experience
Are you looking to grow your career in a laboratory and manufacturing environment? We are seeking a GC Lab Technician to support the production of gas chromatography (GC) columns used in industrial and scientific applications. This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering hands-on experience with laboratory processes, quality control, chemical handling, and production operations.
What You'll Do- Produce and prepare gas chromatography columns in a high-volume laboratory manufacturing setting.
- Perform column conditioning, flow measurements, basic wet chemistry tasks, and chemical handling procedures.
- Operate equipment such as pressure gauges, flow meters, hand tools, and power tools.
- Collect, record, and maintain accurate production and quality data.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with supply replenishment activities.
- Identify quality concerns, support process improvements, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and production schedules to meet customer requirements.
- High school diploma required.
- Coursework in Chemistry, Physics, Engineering, or related technical fields preferred.
- Experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, production, or industrial environment preferred.
- Gas Chromatography experience is a plus but not required.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills and ability to learn new software applications.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to follow technical procedures.
- Knowledge of chemistry fundamentals, material handling, flow measurement, or pressure systems is highly desirable.
