The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in an outpatient clinic setting with hands-on involvement in outpatient procedures. Surgical or medical oncology experience is a plus.
This position serves as the Clinical Nurse for Sugar Land Surgery and also provides floating coverage to other clinics within the Sugar Land location, ensuring seamless patient care across the campus.

- Shift: Monday - Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
- Salary range: $68,000 minimum - $105,000 midpoint - $142,000 maximum
The Clinical Nurse in Medical Oncology at Sugar Land is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based patient care across the continuum. This role supports optimal patient outcomes through direct care, coordination, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, while ensuring efficient use of resources.
Structural Empowerment- Actively participates in shared decision-making at the unit level.
- Identifies barriers to care and contributes to effective solutions.
- Builds strong partnerships across departments to support patient outcomes.
- Trains, mentors, and supports team members to ensure optimal care and resource utilization.
- Manages and delivers patient care in assigned areas.
- Functions effectively in roles such as charge nurse, preceptor, clinical coach, and protocol manager.
- Demonstrates clinical competency in procedures, medication administration, and emergency response.
- Assesses patient needs and collaborates with physicians and care teams to develop and evaluate care plans.
- Advocates for patients and upholds their rights throughout the care process.
- Provides coverage for Surgical Oncology and Infusion patients as needed.
- Integrates research findings and evidence-based practices into daily care.
- Participates in or leads practice improvement and care redesign initiatives.
- Applies safety and quality standards in all aspects of care delivery.
- Minimizes risk behaviors and reports incidents using established systems.
- Collaborates on performance improvement efforts.
- Documents care accurately and in accordance with institutional standards.
- Performs additional responsibilities assigned to support unit and institutional goals.
- Required:
Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing. - Preferred:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Required:
Current State of Texas Professional Nursing license (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification. - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification if working in the following department: ASC Post Anesthesia (600761).
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) if working in the following departments: ASC Post Anesthesia (600761) or Pedi - Child & Adolescent Center (113200).
