The Quality Control Engineer will routinely check product quality in manufacturing to ensure compliance with specifications and requirements across in-process, final, and outgoing QC.
Job Duties- Inspection and Testing:
Conduct thorough inspections and tests on final products to ensure they meet specified quality standards and customer requirements. - Quality Control Systems:
Develop and implement quality control systems to monitor and improve product quality, setting up procedures for testing and inspection. - Data Analysis:
Analyze data from quality tests and inspections to identify trends, root causes of defects, and areas for improvement. - Compliance:
Ensure products comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies. - Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of inspections, tests, and quality control activities for traceability and continuous improvement. - Continuous Improvement:
Lead and participate in quality improvement projects to enhance product quality and reduce defects, using methodologies such as Six Sigma and Lean. - Participate in emergency response preparedness scenarios and support the site Emergency Response Team during incidents.
- Training:
Provide guidance and support to production teams in achieving quality objectives and conduct training sessions on quality control activities. - Work with multi-teams for product quality, function, and standards specifications.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (Preferred: Material, Electronic, Science, Optical, Engineering, Semiconductor, Physics).
- One year+ experience in semiconductor laser dies, semiconductor industry, and photonic integration circuit quality control is desirable.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Experience with data analysis software and systems.
- Knowledge of quality standards, regulations, and production quality control requirements.
- Effective communication skills for presenting findings and collaborating with teams.
- Good knowledge of optoelectronic industry products and processes.
- Excellent presentation and reporting skills, strong organization and multi‑tasking ability, and excellent attention to detail.
- Self‑motivation, dependability, and a good team player who can work efficiently with minimal supervision.
This position will be on‑site based in Sugar Land, Texas.
