ABOUT

THE ROLE

The store manager oversees a retail store's daily operations, including managing staff, inventory, and customer service, while also striving to achieve sales targets and maintain profitability. This position often requires working non-traditional hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays) to successfully meet customers’ needs. The successful candidate will play a key role in continuously increasing sales volume and revenue.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
  • Recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising employees.
  • Scheduling and assigning tasks.
  • Motivating and training staff to achieve sales goals.
  • Ensuring the store is clean, organized, and welcoming for customers.
  • Managing inventory levels and ordering merchandise.
  • Implementing and maintaining store policies and procedures.
  • Managing cash and handling financial transactions.
  • Attend to the self check-out lines, and/or Customer Service desk.
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Resolving customer complaints and issues.
  • Providing excellent customer service and creating a positive shopping experience.
  • Monitoring sales trends and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Liaising with suppliers and headquarters.
  • Opening and/or closing the store.
  • Implementing security measures.
  • Implement the Business Ready Store policy (BRS).
  • Oversee and work the dock operations including E-Commerce and cross dock.
  • Ensure adequate order picking and delivery operation.
  • Staying informed about market trends and competitor activities.
  • Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates year-round.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
  • Great communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong managerial skills developed via managing people and teams
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities cross-functionally while driving results
  • Working knowledge of modern brand retail and/or E‑Comm, e.g. DTC and customer experience.

  • Strong team skills and an aptitude for cross‑functional interactions
  • Well‑developed problem‑solving skills and an eye for detail
  • Energy, enthusiasm, and drive for continuous improvement on projects and team support
  • Strong computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Highly flexible and adaptable – working in a fast‑paced start‑up involves daily shifting priorities; able to go with the flow and adjust to changing needs quickly.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • 5+ years’ experience in retail operations or new store opening management; experience in the food industry preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing a team and driving results
  • College degree and/or equivalent experience required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Point of Sales (POS) system.
  • Background and credit check required.

The employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and smell. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. PPE required while in manufacturing areas. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
